Expression of Interest to become an ISPS Australia Board Director 2019

Enquiries are welcome from interested and suitably experienced people to become voluntary members of our board.

We are seeking persons with a strong commitment to and understanding of mental health recovery and innovative approaches to psychosis and or a lived experience of mental health recovery, as well as further knowledge and experience as outlined below.

ISPS Australia Board is seeking people who have an awareness of the roles and responsibilities of a director to assist us to develop and sustain a strong and vibrant organisation.[1]

The underpinning quality for board members is that they agree with and have capacity to share the ISPS philosophy of furthering the understanding of psychosis, promoting psychological and social approaches to psychosis and advancing the education and knowledge of mental health professionals to work with people who experience psychosis.

Further to this, we are specifically seeking people with knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Finance and accounting;
  • Website development and maintenance;
  • Promotion and Marketing
  • Events planning and fund raising.
  • Admin and secretarial skills
  • Increasing, managing and sustaining memberships

The role will require a commitment of time each month to attend online monthly board meeting, reviewing of papers and other duties identified within the ongoing projects of ISPS Australia

[1] While ISPS International is 50 years old, ISPS is relatively new in Australia. The first ISPS Australia AGM was held at the World Hearing Voices Congress in Melbourne in 2013.

  2. A brief statement outlining your suitability for appointment to the ISPS Australia Board
    (your experience, skills and what you could contribute to the Board including CV)
  3. Your ISPS AU membership status or willingness to become a member
